EDF, its members, NGO observers and other organisations responded to the government consultation on further reform of Judicial Review that closed on 1 November 2013.
In October 2013, UCL, EDF and the EDF Research Network held a seminar to launch and discuss the findings of a study on the integration of national equality and human rights bodies.

In September 2013, the Equality and Diverrsity Forum submitted a response to the Law Commission consultation on reform of hate crime legislation. The consultation closed on 27 September 2013.

EDF, many EDF members and other organisations submitted responses to the Government’s call for evidence to inform the review of the Public Sector Equality Duty.

The consultation on ‘Transforming Legal Aid’ closed on 4 June 2013. EDF and many other organisations submitted responses and published briefings identifying their concerns about the planned changes.

The Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act received Royal Assent on 25 April 2013. In May, EDF published a summary of measures in the Act.

The Equality and Diversity Forum made a submission to the review of the Code of Practice by the Editors’ Code of Practice Committee.

In April 2013, the Equality and Diversity Forum wrote to Parliamentarians about tabled amendments to the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Bill.

EDF published a briefing for the parliamentary debate on Leveson Royal Charter proposals in the House of Commons on 18 March 2013.
The Francis Report was published on 6 February 2013 and EDF’s Human Rights Director said ‘It’s time to put respect for human rights at the heart of the NHS’.
