EDF response to the review of the Editors’ Code of Practice

The Editors’ Code of Practice Committee is reviewing the Code of Practice – the rules that the industry has drawn up voluntarily and pledged to accept to hold newspapers and magazines to account.

The deadline for submissions from the public was 17 April 2013.

The Equality and Diversity Forum (EDF) made a submission as did some EDF members.

In a parliamentary debate on 18 March,  Caroline Lucas MP expresses concern about lack of measures to tackle media sexism.

Women’s organisations have also prepared a briefing on proposals for press regulation.
