Age UK published their report, ‘Hidden in Plain Sight – the unmet mental health needs of older people’, in October 2016. Using data from 55 mental health trusts as well as 130 clinical commissioning groups in England, this report shows that current provision of support is insufficient for both the needs at present and in the face of a rapidly ageing society.
HEAR, the network of equality and human rights organisations and community groups in London, produced a guide in October 2016, entitled ‘A guide to the rights and entitlements of disabled asylum seekers, refugees and refused applicants in the UK’.

In September 2016, the Equality and Human Rights Commission published ‘Crime and disabled people: Measures of disability-related harassment, 2016 update’.
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation launched its anti-poverty strategy, ‘We can solve poverty in the UK’, in September 2016. The report makes clear the many links between poverty and protected characteristics, most notably the disproportionate way poverty affects women, BME and disabled people, and single parents.

Inclusion London launched its Disability Justice Project in August 2016. The Disability Justice Project will support London Deaf and Disabled People’s Organisations to use the law to help Deaf/Disabled people make their rights to independent living and access to goods and services a reality.
On 7 July 2016, the Government published its Response to the House of Lords Select Committee Report on the Equality Act 2010’s impact on disabled people.
Mind launched their campaign Life Support in 2016. The campaign aims to defend life support services which help many people with mental health problems live a full life and stay well.
