Acas and the Government Equalities Office published guidance on managing gender pay gap reporting in the private and voluntary sectors in January 2017. This report followed the amendment to the law in August 2016, requiring all employers with more than 250 employees to publish information about the differences in pay between men and women.
The Fawcett Society launched a review into sex discrimination law in post-Brexit Britain in January 2017. The review also considered current laws and how to best balance the rights of the individual with the responsibilities of the organisation.

The Social Mobility Commission published their report on social mobility, the class pay gap and intergenerational worklessness in January 2017. The report made use of new socio-economic background questions within the UK Labour Force Survey (LFS).

The Women and Equalities Committee report on Pregnancy and maternity discrimination calls for UK women to have protections similar to those in Germany after a ‘shocking’ increase in workplace pregnancy discrimination over the past decade. In January 2017 the Government responded to the report.

The All-Party Parliamentary Group on Social Mobility published their report ‘The class ceiling: Increasing access to the leading professions’ in January 2017. This report summarised the APPG’s inquiry on access into leading professions and made recommendations.

The Government launched a consultation on reforming the Employment Tribunal system in December 2016. We responded to this consultation in January 2017.

The Trades Union Congress launched a survey into Racism at Work in January 2017. The TUC is asking non-unionised as well as unionised workers to complete the survey.
Stonewall published their Workplace Equality Index in January 2017, identifying the most inclusive employers in Britain.

The Women and Equalities Committee launched an inquiry in January 2017 as new research reveals that many fathers do not feel supported in the workplace to care for their children. Submissions should be received by 1 March 2017.
