House of Commons briefing paper: People with Disabilities in Employment

The employment rate of people of working age (16-64) with disabilities is 50.7%, compared to 81.1% for people without disabilities.

This is according to a June 2018 House of Commons briefing paper which gives the key statistics on disabled people in employment between January – March 2018.

The briefing states that the number of people with disabilities who are in employment has been increasing since 2013.

It also points out that to meet its target, the Conservative Party 2017 manifesto pledge to get 1 million more people with disabilities into employment by 2027 would require 4.5 million people with disabilities in employment, a 21% growth on current levels.
