The Modern Slavery Act 2015 received Royal Assent on 26 March 2015. The Government produced a review of the Act in July 2016.

The UN Committee on the Rights of the Child (UN CRC) reviewed the UK’s implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) in May 2016 and published their report. UN CRC raised concerns and made recommendations on a number of children’s rights issues.
In June 2016, the UN Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR) will examine the UK’s State report, on the basis of the list of issues decided upon in October 2015.
