REF report on barriers to health faced by transgender and non-binary BME people

The Race Equality Foundation produced a report Barriers to health faced by transgender and non-binary black and minority ethnic people in June 2016.

This briefing – by Shanna K. Kattari, Darren L. Whitfield, Jonah De Chants, and Antonia R.G. Alvarez – explores transgender and non-binary black and minority ethnic people’s access to health services. It finds they need improved and more equitable access, but also have a need for increased access to social services and behavioural health. Moreover, the report argues that health professionals in all health related fields should be required to have additional trainings to support their work with this community.
