Liberty joint letter to Liam Fox MP: Trade Bill and Disability Rights

Liberty, Business Disability Forum, the Equality and Diversity Forum along with other disability and human rights organisations have written a letter, dated 13 July 2018 to Trade Secretary Liam Fox to warn him that ministerial powers in the Trade Bill could be used to remove disabled people’s rights.

The letter states:

We urge you to add a commitment to the text of the Bill to protect human rights and equality laws during the process of legislating for the UK’s exit from the EU. There must be no roll-back on vital protections for disabled people or any other group that faces discrimination.
