EHRC proposes a new external advisory group on disability issues

In July 2013, the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) formally wrote to the Minister for Women and Equalities to propose that it replaces its statutory disability committee with a new, high level strategic advisory group.

The proposal follows a mandatory review, as set out by the 2006 Equality Act, to determine whether the Disability Committee should continue in its present form.
