There are over 2 million children in England living in families with substantial complex needs, and that of these 1.6 million children have no established, recognised form of additional support.

Women’s Budget Group report: The Female Face of Poverty

Poverty is gendered. Women in the UK are slightly more likely to live in poverty than men when this is measured on the usual household basis (21% of adult women, compared to 19% of adult men in 2016-17).
