Joint Committee on Human Rights report: Proposal for a draft British Nationality Act 1981 (Remedial) Order

It cannot be right in principle that entitlement to British nationality still varies according to whether it is oneโ€™s mother or oneโ€™s father who is British, or whether oneโ€™s parents are married or not.ย
