Summary of case
The case concerned four disabled people who challenged the Council’s decision to reduce council-funded social care provision as part of its measures to save £212 million.
Outcome
The Council’s decision did not comply with the Disability Equality Duty. Authorities must take account of people’s disabilities even where that means treating disabled people more favourably than other individuals.
