The Guardian: Stories of Modern Slavery

More than 200 years after its abolition, slavery is rife worldwide – and widespread in the UK.

The Guardian have compiled stories from people who escaped for a July 2017 edition.

Elvira was trafficked from Qatar into the UK:

‘I was rarely allowed outside the house, and only with her. I was given just a piece of bread and cup of tea for the whole day. I became emaciated.’
