The Bach Commission on access to justice: EDF response and interim report

The Fabian Society is providing the secretariat to Lord Willy Bach’s Commission on Access to Justice, which will explore establishing access to justice as a fundamental public entitlement. The deadline for submissions passed in May 2016. In November 2016 the Commission published an interim report, ‘The crisis in the justice system in England & Wales’.

Government work, disability and health green paper and consultation

The Government published a green paper, ‘Improving Lives’, on work, disability and health in October 2016. The Government also launched an open consultation seeking views on what it will take to transform employment prospects for disabled people and people with long-term health conditions. The consultation is open until 17 February 2017.

EHRC tendering opportunity on prejudice and unlawful behaviour

The Equality and Human Rights Commission is tendering for a supplier(s) to evaluate promising approaches designed to tackle prejudice, discrimination, identity-based harassment or violence. They are also tendering for a supplier(s) to develop guidance and training so that organisations can assess the impact of their work on these issues.
