Seminar report: An Equality and Human Rights Framework for the Third Sector

In April 2011, the Equality and Diversity Forum in association with Third Sector organisations published the report of a seminar on ‘An Equalities & Human Rights Framework for the Third Sector? Exploring the options’.

The seminar was held on 3 March 2011. It was organised by a working group of Equalities & Human Rights specialists, representing five national voluntary organisations (Macmillan Cancer Support, Age UK, Action for Children, Shelter and the Campaign for National Parks) in association with the Equality and Diversity Forum. The organisers were interested in exploring with colleagues from a wide range of voluntary and community sector organisations the relative merits of existing equalities and human rights standards and frameworks, and what the options might be for developing an Equality and Human Rights Framework applicable to a wide cross-section of voluntary sector organisations.
