In October 2011, the Department for Work and Pensions published a report on maternity and paternity rights and women returners.
It examines the impact of the Families Act on mothers’ engagement and experiences in the labour market. It includes findings on maternity and paternity leave and pay, mothers who returned to work and those who did not and the availability of family-friendly working arrangements for mothers and fathers.
