New Chair named as EDF celebrates its first decade

On 13 July 2012, the Equality and Diversity Forum (EDF) announced that Marie Staunton has been appointed as its next Chair, succeeding Sarah Spencer CBE.

The appointment coincides with the EDF’s 10th anniversary which was celebrated at a reception to honour people working to create a fairer and more equal Britain.

Home Secretary and Minister for Women and Equalities Theresa May said:

For the last decade the Equality and Diversity Forum have played a vital role in helping to tackle discrimination and advance equal opportunities for all. That chimes with my own view that equalities should be for everyone. Together we have made great progress but there is always more to do, and we should continue to seek to make equality part of everyday life and everyday business.
