Ministry of Justice consultation: Human Rights Act reform- a modern bill of rights

The Government has launched a three-month consultation on their proposals to reform Human Rights Act, In response to the Independent Human Rights Act Review report.

Due to delays in publishing the accessible Easy Read version and audio version, the MOJ has announced an extension to submissions for those who require an Easy Read or audio version to submit a response and for organisations who represent the interests of those with needs for an Easy Read/audio version.

This consultation seeks views on the government’s proposals to revise the Human Rights Act and replace it with a Bill of Rights.

Each proposal is accompanied by specific consultation questions. The consultation invites responses on those questions, and submissions that deal with the subject of the Human Rights Act more generally are also welcome.
