This report has been produced in conjunction with the University and College Union and UNISON. It examines the impact of insecure work on pregnant women and new mothers in their day to day lives. The use of insecure contracts has risen significantly in recent years across a wide range of employment sectors and has further increased as a result of the
Covid-19 pandemic. Women – particularly pregnant women and new mothers – have been at much higher risk of redundancy, furlough and loss of earnings.
