Two years ago, the previous Committee of Public Accounts reported on the Department of Health’s efforts to move people with a learning disability out of mental health hospitals and into the community. In April 2017, the acting Committee published a report on current local support.
Published in April 2017, the aim of the Work and Pensions Committee’s report on victims of modern slavery (pdf), is to begin with the Government, the development of stage two of their country’s counter-slavery policy that builds on the 2015 legislative framework.
The Joint Committee on Human Rights launched an inquiry into mental health and deaths in prison in December 2016. An interim report was published in April 2017.
The Council of Europe’s Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman and Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) published a report on UK detention practice in April 2017.
