The postcode lottery of Violence Against Women support services in Britain was published by End Violence Against Women (EVAW) and the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) in January 2009. On 30 January, the Commission announced that it will target more than 100 local authorities with the threat of legal action over their failure to provide specialised services for women who have experienced violence.
