United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities report on the UK

The United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities published its report on the UK in November 2016. The report states that “the Committee considers that there is reliable evidence that the threshold of grave or systematic violations of the rights of persons with disabilities has been met”.

The Guardian article on the report states that the UN inquiry concludes that “austerity policies introduced into welfare and social care by the UK government amount to “systematic violations” of the rights of people with disabilities”.

The BBC has also published an article on the report.
