In July 2013, the Government published a note setting out the timetable and process for the introduction of caste legislation.
The Equality Act 2010 (Specific Duties) Regulations 2011 came into force on 10 September 2011 with an accompanying Explantory Memorandum.
The public sector Equality Duty came into force as planned on 5 April 2011, followed by positive action measures on 6 April.
