In July 2013, the Government published a note setting out the timetable and process for the introduction of caste legislation through the duty contained in section 9(5) of the Equality Act 2010.
The Government plans to carry out a full public consultation on the prospective legislation in early 2014, building on research by the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
