Women’s Aid NI: Concerns Over Brexit

As the fallout from the EU Referendum continues, Women’s Aid Northern Ireland have expressed concern about the impact of Brexit on women.

The July 2016 article identifies key three areas for concern:

  • An increased reporting of racism and discrimination against women since the result
  • The potential loss of EU equality and legal frameworks that protect female workers and survivors of violence
  • The risk to women’s services that have relied on EU funding since the Government’s austerity programme
