WEC inquiry: Tackling Inequalities Faced by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller Communities

The Women and Equalities Select Committee (WEC) is continuing an inquiry into the inequalities faced by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities.

Starting in September 2017, WEC is taking forward the evidence it received before the General Election.

In 2012, a ministerial working group published 28 commitments for tackling inequalities faced by Gypsies and Travellers.

This 2017 inquiry will look at the impact of those commitments and what progress has been made in achieving them. It will also explore the effectiveness of policy-making and implementation for these groups more generally, and how the Government can tackle such continuing inequalities.
