Scottish parliamentary report on race, ethnicity and employment

In January 2016, the Scottish Parliament’s Equal Opportunities Committee published the report of its inquiry into race, ethnicity and employment.

Removing Barriers: race, ethnicity and employment says: ‘Despite forty years of legislation, training initiatives and equality policies, the world of work is not representative of Scotland‘s communities and people’.

It states that:

There are considerable gaps in data collection which must be addressed with great urgency if the requirements of the Public Sector Equality Duty in relation to occupational segregation are to be met in 2017.
