The EU “doing things for women” is not enough. Women need to be “doing things” in the EU.

Charlotte O’Brien from the University of York writes in a March 2016 article assesses how much the EU has really done for women, and discusses the problem of paternalism.

In light of the dominantly male character of EU institutions, it shouldn’t be surprising that its actions on gender equality are found wanting.
