The Access to justice campaign was launched in September 2014 because the Law Society believes that access to justice is on the verge of a crisis and there can be no effective rule of law without a fully accessible and affordable judicial system.
The campaign’s three core goals are to:
- persuade policymakers to amend parts one and two of the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act
- raise public awareness of the importance of legal aid and the areas of law where it is still available, and
- encourage and support our members to make their services more accessible to the public
