Government response: ‘Tackling Exploitation in the Labour Market’

Following a consultation in 2015 on tackling labour market exploitation, the Government published its response in January 2016. Tackling Exploitation in the Labour Market sets out the the government’s decision to reform its approach to labour market enforcement in the following ways:

  • Create a new Director of Labour Market Enforcement
  • Creating a new offence of aggravated breach of labour market legislation
  • Strengthening Information sharing
  • Reforming the Gangmasters Licensing Authority
