In May 2014, following the European Court of Human Rights ruling on Elaine McDonald’s case, Equally Ours posted a blog about the case pointing out that:
‘… the ruling has opened the door for more people to challenge decisions made around the provision of care. It has shown that when we use care services we all need our human rights to make sure we have privacy, dignity and independence and authorities can’t ignore these rights in the drive to save money.’
