Equality and Human Rights Commission research: Civil society organisations and human rights

This is a summary of the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC)’s research into civil society organisations’ (CSO) engagement with the International Human Rights Framework.

In December 2019, the EHRC commissioned the University of Nottingham Human Rights Law Centre to carry out the work.

The summary shows:

  • the extent to which CSOs in England and Wales refer to the International Human Rights Framework in their work
  • the impact that referring to the Framework has on CSOs’ activities
  • what changes would enable CSOs to engage more effectively with the Framework in future
