The Equality and Diversity Forum held a series of seminars from autumn 2005 to spring 2006 to inform the two Equality Reviews announced in February 2005: the independent Equalities Review, chaired by Trevor Phillips, to carry out an investigation into the causes of persistent discrimination and inequality in British society; the Discrimination Law Review led by the Women and Equality Unit in the Department of Trade and Industry to consider the opportunities for creating a clearer and more streamlined equality legislation framework.
The EDF organised the seminars with the Disability Rights Commission and JUSTICE and with the support of Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales.
