ECRI conclusions on the implementation of its recommendations to the UK

In February 2013, the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) published conclusions on the implementation of a number of priority recommendations made in its report to the UK in March 2010:

ECRI’s main recommendations to the UK were that authorities:

  • consider how to best ensure that legal aid is available in discrimination cases before Employment Tribunals;
  • consider how to best ensure that Gypsies and Travellers have access to adequate accommodation;
  • continue to address the under-representation of ethnic minorities in the police, and to monitor progress in recruitment, retention and career advancement.
