On 1 October 2012, the UK Corporate Governance amendments came into force: Opportunity Now and Race for Opportunity published ‘Diversity on boards. Guidance to companies on implementation of the UK Corporate Governance Code amendments on diversity on boards’
The amendments are the ‘comply or explain’ mechanism through which companies will choose to set their aspirational goals for the number of women they expect to have on their boards, and will report their progress against those goals, year on year.
