‘We need to promote solutions that support active and healthy behaviours, such as walkable communities and active travel options.’
This is from a report by the Centre for Ageing Better, launched September 2019, on the high-level policy intersections between the Industrial Strategy Grand Challenges on Healthy Ageing and the Future of Mobility.
The report explores the complexity and fragmentation of the current transport system, and argues that these lead to barriers in innovation and collaboration to support healthier later life.
It looks at evidence gained from the Centre’s strategic partnership work in Leeds and Greater Manchester, as well as wider stakeholder engagement.
