On 18 May 2007, the Equality and Diversity Forum held a seminar ‘Delivering Equality: Towards an Integrated Public Sector Duty’.
EDF held a seminar on 8 May 2006 discussing the Commission for Equality and Human Rights’ duty to promote ‘good relations’ between members of different groups across society.
This seminar considered the implications of replacing the existing duties with a single positive duty to promote equality covering age, religion and belief and sexual orientation in addition to the existing grounds.
In February 2004, EDF hosted a seminar to launch a report titled ‘taking equal opportunities seriously: the extension of positive duties to promote equality’ by Colm O’Cinneide.
