British Medical Association online resource: Equality Lens

The British Medical Association launched their Equality Lens in December 2016. This is an information resource providing an equalities analysis of the UK medical workforce in the UK, and will frame the BMA’s equalities work going forward.

The Equality lens identifies the key trends in representation of women and BME doctors, medical students and medical academics, and includes calls to action for all NHS stakeholders to put equality on their agendas and ask what more they could be doing to increase diversity among these groups.

It draws together data on gender and ethnicity from 2010 to 2015 from various data sources including the GMC, MSC (Medical Schools Council) and national data carriers.
